Rev. Timothy Warner- Senior Pastor
Rev. Timothy B. Warner was called to the gospel ministry while serving as a Deacon at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Rockville, MD in 1996. He was licensed to preach in 1998 and ordained to pastoral ministry after he completed his Master of Divinity degree at Wesley Theological Seminary in 2003. Reverend Warner was trained as a bacterial geneticist, and enjoyed a productive career in pharmaceutical research and development, where he held various scientific and executive leadership positions for over 18 years before committing to full-time ministry.
He served for seven years as the Associate Council Director for Community and Economic Development in the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church, engendering ministries of mission-evangelism in local churches throughout the region. Notable among them are: Saving Stations, the Jesus Jam Basketball Camp, and Shalom Zones. He also managed the Conference’s relationship with the Zimbabwe Episcopal Area. He is a contributing author of two books, The Africana Worship Book, an afro-centric worship book, and Disciplines:2009, a book of daily devotions, and has recently been awarded Wesley Theological Seminary’s Urban Ministry Distinguished Alumnus Award.
He served as the Sr. Pastor of St. Mark’s UMC in Boyds, MD, which he led, with two other congregations, into the creation of a new congregation, Community of Faith United Methodist Church of Clarksburg, MD. Rev. Warner has also served on multiple non-profit and county boards, commissions and committees. He is currently on the Board of Trustees of the National Center for Children and Families and the Board of Directors of the Montgomery Housing Partnership.
After serving in ministry on the staff of the Montgomery County Executive in his Office of Community Partnerships as the Community Liaison for the African American and Faith Communities, and then as the Chief Engagement and Partnership Officer for Montgomery County Public Schools, Rev. Warner is proud to serve as Senior Pastor of both the Emory Grove United Methodist Church in Gaithersburg, MD and the Mill Creek Parish United Methodist Church in Derwood, MD.

Rev. Megan Blanchard
Rev. Megan Blanchard is a provisional Deacon of the United Methodist Church. She grew up in North Carolina and studied Political Science and Spanish at Davidson College. She and her husband, Trey, moved to Washington, D.C. in 2013, where she enrolled and later completed her dual masters’ degree in Theological Studies and International Development from Wesley Theological Seminary and American University.
Prior to joining the staff at Mill Creek, Deacon Megan worked in a number of different in finance and operations roles. She and her husband, Trey, live in Potomac, MD with their young daughter, Susannah. She loves being a mom, likes taking walks with her family and their dogs (Katie and Layla), and enjoys spending time with her family in the Carolinas whenever possible.
Youth Minister - Rev. Tammi Brantley
Rev. Tammi is currently the Central Maryland District Youth Coordinator for the Baltimore Washington Conference. She is an ordained clergywoman in the American Baptist Church who is currently pursuing the transfer of her orders to the United Methodist Church in this Annual Conference.
She has served as the Executive/Youth Pastor at Mt. Zion UMC in Highland, MD for the past 5 years. Prior to this she spent thirteen years leading youth ministry in various capacities in three churches in Washington, DC: Mount Moriah Baptist, Walker Memorial Baptist and Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal. She comes to ministry from a professional career where her last was position was as Logistics Coordinator for UPS.
Rev. Tammi is originally from Georgia, and is a graduate of Howard Divinity School with a Certificate in Youth and Theology from Princeton Theological Seminary. She
brings energy, exceptional passion for youth, multicultural experience, work with digital outreach and administrative gifts, a clear sense of God’s call to ministry with young people, and a desire to
be a part of the emerging work God is doing through our three churches.
Director of Music- Katherine Williams
A Montgomery County residence since age six, Katherine Williams grew up and was confirmed at Chevy Chase United Methodist Church. After graduating from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, Katherine eventually returned to the area.
She and her family moved to Damascus in 1999 and she began attending Damascus United Methodist Church. While there, she joined the staff as the cherub choir and girls chorister director as well as the piano accompanist for the Charles Wesley Singers, the church’s 60-voice youth choir. She toured with them for thirteen years under the direction of Rev. Walt Edmonds. In 2012, she joined Glenmont UMC as their music director, where she has served until 2018 when she came to Mill Creek Parish.
Katherine was a private piano teacher for over 20 years and taught pre-k and general music at Seneca Academy/Circle School in Darnestown for many years until joining MCPS as an elementary general/choral teacher in 2005. She has been the full-time music teacher at Little Bennett ES in Clarksburg since 2008.
Katherine has two children, Rob, 25, and Marin, 20, both accomplished musicians in their own right.
Rocio has been a Silver Spring, MD resident for over 31 years. A family woman and active in her community and rooted in her faith. She enjoys to garden, travel, and spend time with her children and grandchildren. Rocio is our newest member and welcome addition! Please give Rocio a warm welcome when you stop by the parish office.
Youth Handbell Director- Carole Mattis
Carole Mattis is originally from Calvert County, MD. She moved to the Gaithersburg area in the early 70's. She and her family became active members at MCP in 1980. She began ringing bells in 1983 and moved on to organizing and directing a senior high bell group in 1999, followed by a middle high bell group in 2010. She was also the director of the adult bells from 2008 through 2018. Carole enjoys spending time with her 5 grandchildren, teaching piano, and, of course, hand bells.
